What is WIP?
We are a group of musicians and DJs who love experimental sounds and want to create a space for them in Edinburgh. We take submissions from local artists and broadcast them on EHFM radio, and create live events for people to perform their weird and wonderful creations.Click on the WIP I, WIP II, and WIP III buttons to look back at our past events and listen to broadcasts of previous submissions!

WIP I
Submissions for Works in Progress I opened in September 2023. We received 80 pieces of experimental sound. In March 2024 we had an afternoon of 5 hours of radio showcasing the submissions live on EHFM. We then had a live event in the evening at Embassy Gallery, where people who submitted sounds played live to a packed crowd. Below you can listen back to the programs where we played the submissions. This could be a great place to get ideas for your own submissions for WIP :)
WIP II
We were blown away by the response to our second Works In Progress event. Submissions opened in August 2024 and we received 91 responses! In December 2024 we then programmed a 4 hour broadcast on EHFM and a night of live sounds at Dissenter Space, with visuals by Dorque (Colm Clarke). WIP III
For WIP III we had two events: one was at Leith Depot where we launched the opening of submissions and had performances from Cici Chen, Jebel Musa and Sian Landau. They were all submitters to WIPs 1 and 2.In August we then had an event in Leith Cricket Club with Ravelston, Canaan Balsam, Aminabonthebeat and Tues. all performed.
